Principle
The air-operated double-diaphragm pump is a new type of high-efficiency fluid transfer equipment and is currently a widely used new pump type in the industrial field. Its main principle is as follows: with compressed air as the sole power source, it can operate without electric drive and can efficiently suction and transport various materials that conventional pumps find difficult to handle, including corrosive fluids, liquids containing solid particles, high-viscosity media, and volatile, flammable, explosive, highly toxic, and hazardous liquids, while achieving complete evacuation and transfer of the medium.
Application Scenarios
According to the requirements of different scenarios, air-operated double-diaphragm pumps are currently divided by material into four types: engineering plastic diaphragm pumps, aluminum alloy diaphragm pumps, cast iron diaphragm pumps, and stainless steel diaphragm pumps. In use, depending on the substance being transported, they can be matched with materials such as nitrile rubber, neoprene, fluororubber, polytetrafluoroethylene, and polyfluoroethylene to meet the needs of different scenarios.

Automatic adaptation of flow and pressure:The equipment uses compressed air as power, and the output flow can automatically adaptively adjust according to the outlet back pressure (pipeline resistance), making it especially suitable for transporting medium- and high-viscosity fluids. Unlike centrifugal pumps, whose operating parameters are calibrated based on clean water, when transporting high-viscosity fluids, reducers or variable-frequency equipment must be added to assist adjustment, greatly increasing operating costs. Gear pumps also have such drawbacks, whereas air-operated double-diaphragm pumps can be directly adapted without modification.

Safe and reliable in flammable and explosive working conditions: In scenarios involving the transport of highly hazardous media such as fuels, gunpowder, and explosives, air-operated double-diaphragm pumps are far superior to electric pumps in safety and cost-effectiveness. The equipment is driven entirely without electricity, and after reliable grounding, electrostatic sparks can be completely eliminated; the working process involves no mechanical friction heat generation, and the pump body will not heat up or overheat; at the same time, it causes very little shear agitation to the fluid, effectively avoiding the risks of medium heating, volatilization, and deflagration.

Strong adaptability to harsh working conditions: In scenarios such as construction sites and industrial and mining plant areas, wastewater and waste residue media contain many impurities and have complex compositions, making pipeline blockage very likely. When conventional electric pumps encounter pipeline blockage, the load surges sharply, the motor is prone to overheating and burning out, and the failure rate is high. In contrast, air-operated double-diaphragm pumps can smoothly pass solid particles, have adjustable flow, and can automatically shut down for protection when the pipeline is blocked, providing extremely strong adaptability to working conditions.

Convenient installation and mobility: The equipment is compact overall, lightweight, requires no fixed foundation, occupies little space, has a simple installation process and low investment cost, and can be flexibly moved and installed, making it suitable for mobile material transfer scenarios and adaptable to temporary operation needs in multiple scenarios.

Excellent medium isolation: For hazardous and highly corrosive industrial media, the diaphragm can isolate the transported medium from the pump's moving parts and the external environment.
